What do you think of when someone says camo? Combat boots, face paint, festivals, mud… Action Man?! Think again! Camo came storming back in to the limelight early this year and it’s not going down without a fight. With it’s earthy hues and structured silhouettes it’s no wonder designers are constantly tweaking this faux military trend. Seen on all of the fash-pack and the elite of street style its refusal to disappear season after season shows that the camo print has taken a step away from its original urban street vibe and gone global.
With the likes of London’s favourite designer Christopher Kane opening his fall show with a heavily military theme. His clashing prints of muted blue and grey camouflage instantly switched on our fashion sensors. From parkas to party dresses, Kane like other designers this season proved that camo could do no wrong. This popular military trend is soon to get wardrobe staple status with its easy to wear attitude. Especially with both Michael Kors and Alexander Wang giving it their nod of approval.
Since seeing this riot of a print all over the catwalk we’ve had a serious craving for camo! You won’t be able to get enough of this versatile faux military print so if you’re more edgy-grunge compared to girly cute this trend can be worked either way. Pair floaty dresses with oversized camo shirts and jackets or team a printed number with some sky-high platforms depending on your style of choice.
To work this season’s micro trend go bold! Nothing says fashion forward more than clashing patterns. Team camo with feminine florals or mismatch with bright show-stopping hues for a fun laid back festival vibe. In the nature of the print be adventurous and playful, why stick to the rules when you can create a look for every mood. That’s an order soldier! The great thing about this trend; it can be worked into any piece and dressed up or down. One of our camo prints will no longer have you blending into the background that’s for sure!
So whether you’re looking for an eye-catching piece or you need a slightly cool separate to revive an everyday outfit camo is the go to print. From grunge to girly chic get inspired by this forward marching print and choose a disguise that is sure to get you noticed. Go crazy for camo!
