Treasure Island Music Festival!

>> BACK TO HOMEPAGE

The annual electro-rock and hip hop music festival at Treasure Island returned to San Fran last weekend and we’re here to give you the inside scoop on the stellar performances and hipster-chic fashion scene! For those who haven’t attended this weekend outdoor fest, it is a bonanza of up-and-coming mix of electro-pop and hip-hop artists, visited by an eclectic crowd of both young and old concertgoers, a haven of interactive art installations and a giant Ferris wheel. All of this madness takes place on Treasure Island- a man made landmass floating just inside the San Francisco Bay!

This year we were blessed with beautiful weather and a line-up that seemed too good to be true. The perfect event to be noticed for your fashion sense, it was certainly top of mind for these SF trendsetters. After we basked in the sun jumping from show to show and took in the breathtaking San Francisco skyline, we made sure not to miss the surf rock duo Best Coast for a riveting performance at sunset.

Come Sunday evening, the ever-ferocious Beth Ditto of The Gossip was quick to own the stage and command the attention of every crowd member. True to form, she belted her earth shattering voice across the grounds and brought down the house with the band’s biggest hits. She is the epitome of girl power and we just can’t get enough! But our ABSOLUTE favourite part? The Silent Discos. Wearing wireless headphones provided by the festival, a silent arena of dancing sweaty bodies listen to a DJ set that only they can hear through their headsets. Onlookers witness an eerie silent scene of concert-goers having the time of their lives without making a sound. What a sight! Closing out the incredible festival were our fellow Brits and Sunday headliner, The XX. Their haunting melodies and infectious electro beats made the perfect way to wind down this craze filled music bender weekend. We can’t wait until next year!
