Motel have a host of fabulous Student Ambassadors promoting our perfect party wears to students on their campus, and this month’s star ambassador is Melita! Here’s a peek into her studies, hopes and dreams…

Where do you study and what course do you do?
I’m studying a Joint Honours Degree of French and Philosophy at the University Of Kent, so I’m currently living in Canterbury but my roots are in the Sunshine Coast of Eastbourne.
How does it feel to be a Motel Student Ambassador?
I’m loving being a Motel Student Ambassador and even more so Ambassador of the month! I think it’s a really great opportunity, especially for someone like me who is interested in fashion but does not do a degree directly related to it and/or have any fashion type experience. It’s a fantastic chance to get involved and gain some work experience and credentials in that niche.
What do you love about Motel?
I think that Motel is quite adaptable regardless of your fashion tastes; in my opinion, most girls could quite easily pick out an item from the collection and make it work for their particular style. I also love how Motel keeps certain styles of clothes, be it bodycon style dresses or jeans, and just updates it from season to season with different patterns, colours and materials. I think that’s great because if you know what style you love and what suits you, you’re able to stick to it whilst keeping that versatility in your wardrobe. It also means that if pennies are running low one month, chances are that there will just be a better version of your coveted item come payday!
What is your favourite item online right now?
My favourite item right now would have to be the Motel Savannah Sheer Polka Dot Dress in Black, it’s just so beautiful. I love the sheer sleeves and the opaque polka dot pattern and how the sheer layer falls just a few inches below the undergarment. It is such a flattering shape as well with it nipping in at the waist and then floating into an A-line style skirt. I’m also loving the Motel Heidi Skater Dress in Rosa Print; I’m a sucker for the odd vintage item and this dress has a vintage feel about it with the slightly puffed shoulders and rose pattern.
What is your dream job for the future?
I’d love to be a writer and go into journalism. I’m not 100% decided on what aspect of journalism I would like to venture into, magazines, newspapers, fashion, music, columns, there’s just too much to choose from that I haven’t yet had the chance to try out! I love writing about fashion on my blog and I write as much as I can for my university newspaper and of course the work I do for Motel as an ambassador! I need to dabble in a few more areas but writing is definitely on the cards.
