Motel was short listed for the Drapers awards this year for short order/quick response brand of the year, so naturally we donned our finest wear (Pete in a tux, Claire in an Erica Dress and me in the Gina dress) and headed on down to Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London.
After the champagne reception we headed to our seats spotting the presenter for the evening, Lisa Snowdon, on the way to our table. Drapers magazine editor, Jessica Brown kicked off the evening with a speech about how tough this year has been on the retail industry and the successes being that much sweeter this year because of this.
After our 3 course meal, it was time to get down to the business of the night, the awards and the winners. The winners included, wrangler for best marketing initiative of the year, John Lewis women swear, Cardiff for best new department store/ department of the year, John Lewis.com for best larger etailer of the year and Liam Gallagher‘s(who was in attendance) brand pretty green for best menswear brand of the year. Soon enough it was our category, and the winner was described as “bang on trend, band on time”….and guess what? WE WON!!!!!!!!!!!! We got on stage, accepted the award (a rather heavy male turso), got a little kiss and a hug from Snowdon and our pictures taken!
We had a great night, go MOTEL!!
This lovely lady from winning brand Wrangler was also representing Motel in the fabulous Patsie dress!
This week’s press has been causing quite a stir at head office with Motel’s coverage in one of the most fashion conscious magazines in the world i-D Magazine. The young beautiful Dj Yasmin who has just burst onto the music scene with her electric style wears our Tammy Animal T-shirt. We salute her fresh fashion sense!
She is putting Liverpool on the style map with her classic feminine style, X-Factor contestant Rebecca Ferguson is seen in Heat Magazine wearing our Freya Polka Dot Dress. Get her look with a floppy hat and lashings of red lippie.
In this week’s Company Magazine its all about party dresses of the season and our Constance fits the bill. It is perfect for the party season with its body-con fit and gold bead embellished bustier. Yesterday our lovely boss (and owner of Motel) Pete and some of our wonderful colleges Jo and Claire went along to the Drapers award ceremony. We had been nominated for the category ‘Short order & quick response brand of the year’ and what do you know… we only went and won!
